TRAUMA-INFORMED, FAMILY-CENTERED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING

Jeni Fillmore, LPC-A

Jeni is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate specializing in trauma-informed, family-centered therapy for children, teens, young adults, and their caregivers, but open to clients of all ages and backgrounds! Her ideal clients are those who are ready — sometimes urgently — to make meaningful, positive changes, even when the path ahead feels overwhelming. With extensive experience providing intensive in-home care as the “last step” before long-term hospitalization, she understands the urgency and complexity of high-risk situations. She works with individuals and families navigating depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, family conflict, and significant behaviors such as aggression, running away, self-harm, suicidal or homicidal thoughts, and property destruction.

She brings a creative, hands-on approach to therapy, often incorporating art, laughter, positivity, and interactive methods to create a safe, engaging environment that feels far from the stereotypical therapy room. Her work emphasizes building competency, fostering healthy attachments, developing regulation skills, and increasing body awareness to support lasting change. While she welcomes clients of all ages, her deepest expertise is with ages 6–20 and their families. She also brings significant knowledge of the child welfare system and a strong commitment to helping clients, caregivers, and families find stability, resilience, and hope.

She also enjoys working with individuals who are just beginning to explore counseling — dipping their toe in the water — to build a supportive skillset and therapeutic toolbox for developing or strengthening a healthy mindset. Whether clients are in crisis or simply motivated for growth, she is here to walk alongside them in creating meaningful, lasting change!

Growing up with a father who served as a police officer, Jeni witnessed firsthand the significant need for accessible mental health treatment. She saw that many lives could have gone a better direction with the right support, treatment, and having people’s emotional and psychological needs met early on. This experience inspired her path into counseling and continues to fuel her commitment to helping individuals and families find stability, resilience, and hope.
